The promotion, which initially ran for a period of six months, offered end users the chance to win one of six 42-inch televisions by entering codes from special bags of Battered Chicken Steaks and Battered Chicken Nuggets into monthly prize draws.

Brian, who works for Fife Council Older People’s Services as a mobile cook in the region’s care homes, said the win was a total surprise. “I don’t tend to enter prize draws very often, but I thought this one was worth a go and it was very easy to enter,” said Brian.

Klucky will be taking some well-earned rest before spreading his wings to a much wider range of Meadow Vale products, giving more end users the opportunity to win a star prize. Customers are urged to keep their eyes peeled for his return.

Klucky the Chicken chose Khong Yong who owns The Corner Chippy in Swansea as March’s winner.

Khong joins Michael Best from Birmingham and Claire Lerwill from Devon to complete our trio of fish frying prize winners. Other previous winners include a school cook from Kent and a chicken takeaway shop owner from the West Midlands.

Since buying his shop last summer, Khong has tried and tested a number of different chicken brands to find the best product for his largely student customers. He eventually decided on Meadow Vale’s Battered Chicken Steaks, which can be deep-fried in less than five minutes and are a big hit with the students.

“Meadow Vale chicken is so good that I’m sure a lot of people must have entered the draw, therefore to be selected as the winner was a huge surprise” said Khong of his win.

Khong is now the proud owner of a 42-inch screen TV, courtesy of Meadow Vale Foods.
